Kindergarten Taranaki
With 24 kindergartens located around the mighty Taranaki Mounga, Kindergarten Taranaki provides high quality ECE to around 1150 tamariki.
They employ only 100% qualified and registered kaiako/teachers, along with a strong support team of kindergarten administrators, teacher aides, cooks and drivers, who are dedicated to ensuring best possible outcomes for tamariki, whānau and staff.
Kindergarten Taranaki is currently working in collaboration with Iwi, whānau, staff, and Governing Board to develop a Roadmap for Kindergarten Taranaki to become a Tiriti o Waitangi based organisation by 2033. This aligns with their strategic intention Te Whakapakari i te Mātau ā-Ahurea – Strengthening Cultural Capabilities.
Teaching teams are responsive to community needs and many of our initiatives have grown from community input and suggestions. Some of these services include food and van services, whānau cooking classes, playgroups, parenting courses, neurodiversity workshops. Kindergarten Taranaki are always looking for ways to meet the needs of their whānau.
“Our kindergartens are as unique and diverse as the communities they are located in. Whānau are always welcomed and encouraged to be part of their tamariki’s learning journey – from day-to-day activities, outings, shared kai and special events, through to sharing stories from home on the online Storypark app.”
Kindergarten Taranaki believe all tamariki have the right to participate in high-quality early childhood education. “Together with Kindergartens Aotearoa we can use our collective voice to strengthen the kindergarten movement and continue to ensure ECE is accessible and equitable for our diverse communities.”
