Napier Kindergartens are a community based, not-for-profit, and staffed by fully qualified teachers committed to inclusive, play-based learning environments where every child is valued and supported.

The Napier Kindergarten Association oversees the management of 16 Kindergartens in Napier, Wairoa and Haumoana, delivering early childhood education to 2 to 5 year olds.

As a not for profit organisation their resources are used to benefit their kindergartens and children, ensuring high quality early childhood education at the lowest possible cost to parents and caregivers.

Their kindergarten philosophy imagines education as a nurturing ‘garden’ where children flourish through play, creativity and connection with nature. The blending of this philosophy with New Zealand’s unique cultural landscape creates an environment where children grow as curious, creative and connected individuals.

Napier Kindergartens honor Te Whāriki, the national early childhood curriculum, which emphasizes empowerment, holistic development, family and community, and relationships. They uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi by authentically incorporating Māori perspectives and fostering a sense of belonging and respect for Papatūānuku, the natural world.
